Easter Holidays Looking Bright for Hospitality Industry Stakeholders

The Placencia BTIA’s Stewart Krohn offered some of his expectations for this Easter holiday season. The Easter weekend is about forty days away and hotels and resorts are ready to accommodate the increase in reservations that are seen around this time of the year. Krohn says he is optimistic that the increase in domestic travel will continue to help revive the industry, as this trend is a major contributor to economic activity around this time of the year.

Stewart Krohn, President, BTIA Placencia: “Easter is a little bit different situation. At Eastern the foreign travel tapers off a little bit and a lot of that foreign travel depends on when spring break holiday in US universities takes place and remember Easter changes its dates every year whereas spring break tends to be a little more consistent. So Easter can be big or small in terms of foreign travel but most years Easter is really a local holiday and most hotels depending on what they do with their rates if they offer local travelers a little break, Easter is generally given to local travel more than foreign. We have our share of foreigners but most hotels will have local people predominantly
