Elderly man killed in traffic accident up north

An elderly man was killed in a road traffic incident this morning in the Corozal District. According to police, around 6 o’clock, 80-year-old Agusto Acosta was riding his bicycle near mile 76 on the Phillip Goldson Highway when he was hit from behind by a motorcycle. As a result, Acosta and the driver of the motorcycle, 32-year-old Misael Montejo, fell to the pavement. The men were initially transported to the Corozal Community Hospital where Acosta succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment. And, Montejo was later transported to Medical Associates in Belize City. Police investigations continue.
