Electric Taxis Are Coming

The e-transit plan not only comprises electric buses. According to Mayor Wagner, the plan also includes the acquisition of e-taxis. 

Bernard Wagner, Mayor of Belize City: “It’s a part of the entire scope of the project. It’s essentially to compliment the buses and so we are looking at having about 6 to 8 E taxis along again these individuals who will be driving these taxis would be  engaged by the city again. I know they will complain but they are welcome to partner with us probably some of the same taxi guys would be working with the city in the E taxis. They will probably be the drivers. It’s really a pilot project to really see how we can do the adaptation to the transit completely in the city.”
