Elmer Nah’s case in the Belmopan High Court was adjourned until October when he appeared in court this week. Nah was to get disclosure in this week’s session, but he had only managed to get a portion of it. Additionally, in this case, a Special Prosecutor was being sourced in order to avoid what was deemed a conflict of interest had the Director of Public of Prosecutions become involved. Minister Kareem Musa also gave insight into this matter.
Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs: “I can’t get into the evidence, but what I can say is that the video is not the only evidence on file and so he, in my opinion, would have a charge to answer to. And yes, the special prosecutor should be here. We are wrapping up our negotiations with him as we speak and certainly he’ll be here for the next court date.”
Elmer Nah is facing trial for the triple homicide of Vivian, Jon and David Ramnarace on New Year’s Eve 2022 in Belmopan.
