Emergency Service Teams in Southern Belize Partner Up to Provide More Efficient Service

A memorandum of understanding has been inked between two emergency response organisations. Today, Southern Emergency Services (SES), located at the entrance of Hopkins Village, Stann Creek and the National Fire Service (NFS) signed the document.  The MOU will result in the housing of one of the NFS’s fire trucks at Southern’s compound and provide opportunities for cross-training for firefighters and medics. According to a brief statement from the fire service, this opportunity allows for better coverage in the coastal community for fire and other medical emergencies. Minister of Sustainable Development, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management Orlando Habet, Fire Chief Colin Gillett and the SES’s board president, Evan Hrysak (rye-sack) signed the MOU for their respective organisations.
