Emerson Estuardo Garcia Criminally Charged

Emerson Estuardo Garcia has been slapped with a slew of charges for knocking down and killing 49-year-old Ari Vanzie on March 24 in Belmopan. Garcia was charged with “manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct, drove motor vehicle without due care and attention and fail to give way when changing direction.” Vanzie was on his motorcycle entering Forest Drive’s intersection with Slim Lane when an SUV collided with him. The driver of the SUV, who was coming in the opposite direction, was attempting to make a left turn when the incident occurred. Vanzie was flung to the pavement and sustained severe injuries to his legs, arms, and head. He was rushed to the Western Regional Hospital, where he succumbed.
