Belize is one of the Caribbean countries blacklisted as one of the world’s 30 worst offending tax havens by the European Commission. Each of the countries on the list had been suggested by at least ten European Union member states as problematic by not doing enough to crack down on tax avoidance. The other Caribbean countries listed are Anguilla, Antigua, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Grenada, Montserrat, St Kitts and Nevis, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Turks and Caicos Islands and US Virgin Islands.
