Delvin “Pen Cayetano’s Master Artist exhibit is being curated at the Mexican Cultural Institute on Barrack Road in Belize City. It is one of the many activities being held in conjunction with the celebration of Garifuna culture. Cayetano’s body of work dates back to the 70’s when he emerged as a painter, singer, songwriter, percussionist and guitarist. Love News spoke to Diego Sapien, the Cultural Attaché for the Embassy of Mexico who gave us a preview of what to expect at Thursday night’s opening.

Entrance is free, we are going to have free drinks, a little bit of food for the people to enjoy, Pen Cayetano is going to be here as well and his wife Ingrid Cayetano is going to be here as well. We are very happy to have a retrospective exhibition of Pen Cayetano’s works here at the institute, he has been a usual client for the Mexican Institute for these twenty five years and as he has been a part of the Belizean culture as one of the most important if not the most important artist in the Garifuna culture as he exports his work also in America and Europe and he has been showcased in Chetumal at the Maya Museum and also in Mexico City.”
