Extradition Case of Murder Suspect to Commence with New Legal Representation

The extradition case of Nimrod Tillett, who is wanted for a murder in Mexico, is being called up in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court tomorrow, and he’s showing up with new representation. Tillett’s legal team reached out to Love News today to say that he has secured the services of English barrister Tim Prudhoe, of Turks and Caicos Islands law firm Stanbrook Prudhoe, which has a reputation for taking on complex and controversial cases. In October 2023, the Attorney General’s Ministry filed for extradition proceedings in connection with a 2019 murder of a woman, but more information would be shared at the hearing. Tillett, who was recovering from a gunshot wound at the time, was wheeled out of the courtroom in a wheelchair and onto the prison bus after being remanded to the Belize Central Prison for the proceedings. We’ll be following up with the case tomorrow.
