Faber and the Collet Division

Faber and the Collet Division

We also asked Patrick Faber about his future in the Collet constituency. The matter of representation in the Collet constituency remains unresolved, with standard bearer Ian Jones indicating his intention to resign, but not following through after truce talks between Faber and Barrow stalled and backfired.  Faber says that the issue of remaining as the UDP’s representative for Collet continues to be discussed.

Patrick Faber, Area Representative, Collet Division: “It continues to be an issue that we’re discussing. We did have very serious discussions on it. There seems to be overwhelming support for it it’s just the matter of working out some procedural details to get it done but you know whenever the vacancy exists in the Collet area I maintain that I much rather run for my party. I will not abandon the Collet people and so ultimately it’s a decision that the party will have to make to decide if once the seat is vacant if I am the person to fill that vacancy and I’m pretty sure there is overwhelming support for that but we’re not quite there just yet.”

Reporter: Do you have the support from Mr.Barrow ?

Patrick Faber, Area Representative, Collet Division: “Shyne Barrow ? Well he has vowed to go along with whatever the wider party says. If even though we have not finalized the decision it was made very very clear in that NPC Saturday that the people of this party want to see me back in that seat and I’ll leave it there. We’re working to make sure that that happens.”
