It has been almost forty eight hours since the body of 23-year-old Benjamin Reid was found in a shallow grave just off the George Price Highway. While the family is grateful for closure they are displeased at how the family was not given the chance to bury him. Love News spoke with the family who says that while they have been in communication with the police since Reid’s body was found, it was not until today that they found out that he had already been buried. According to Albert Reid, the brother of Benjamin Reid, all they wanted was to have a proper burial for his younger brother.
Albert Reid, Brother of Benjamin Reid: “My brother was a strong person, loving, he was always there, he was a bread winner to the family. He was always there and he looked out of us and he never ever left us without calling us, left us without knowing he is there. He was always there and respected us so the person that I could say – the John Crow that flies in the air, John Crow knoq exactly how when John Crow fly in the air exactly what is John Crow remember that. The police are telling us directly that this guy they found at three miles.”
Naim Borges, Love News: I understand you already saw the belongings and that is how you identified him..
Albert Reid, Brother of Benjamin Reid: “Yup we identified him by the shirt, his pants, the chain, shoes and also his belt number one because my brother always wore his belt down he never wore his belt round. So directly that was my brother and God bless him and I hope that he lives happy. We really feel mad, we feel blue aggrieved, blue and yellow so at the end of the day we are just mad because we didn’t get him to bury him and have a decent burial for my brother.”
Benjamin Reid had been reported missing since May 13. Investigation has revealed that the 23-year-old was shot to the head. Reid was found fully clothed which assisted in the identification of his body. An onsite post mortem was conducted yesterday with the conclusion that Reid died to the perforated injury to his head due to the gunshot.
