Police are investigating several serious incidents reported in the past week, including shootings, armed robberies and a house fire that left one woman injured.  In Guinea Grass Village, Orange Walk District, police say 42-year-old farmer Saul Santos and his family escaped injury after several shots were fired at their home yesterday evening.  Santos told police that shortly before the shooting, he had been confronted by a neighbour who accused him of poisoning a dog and allegedly threatened him. Around 6:30, while Santos was inside with his wife and children, gunshots were fired from behind the house.  Police found several bullet marks near the back door and windows and recovered a slug from the scene. Two men were detained, but no charges have been reported. The suspects’ names are therefore being withheld.
