Family Faces Court on Unlicensed Ammunition Charges

A family of four was taken to court on unlicensed ammunition charges, but a member of the group owned up to the charge. Today, forty-seven-year-old, Shelmadine Lynch along with her son twenty-year-old Arenal Smith, her daughter twenty-six-year-old Hortence Christina Lynch, and a seventeen-year-old minor, were taken to the Belize City Magistrate’s Court in relation to three live nine-millimeter rounds fund at their home during a police search. In court, Arenal Smith pleaded guilty to the charge and apologized for wasting the court’s time to have his family brought there. The court considered his early guilty plea and the fact that he was a first offender and sentenced him to six months in prison.
