Family Feud Erupts in San Ignacio/Santa Elena Town Council, Mayor’s Father Fired

A family feud has spilled over into the San Ignacio/Santa Elena Town Council as the father of Mayor Earl Trapp was fired from the council.  Reports to Love News say that the Mayor fired his father who was employed as a handyman after he got into a physical altercation with the Mayor’s son.  The mayor’s father received his letter of termination was sent out on June 29, the day after the altercation occurred.  We spoke with the Mayor’s father, his namesake, who explained his side of the incident.

According to the Mayor’s father, he had sought to make a police report, but the police suggested that they resolve the matter as a family.  We made several calls to speak to Mayor Trapp, but our attempts went unanswered.
