Family Pleads for Return of Stolen Ashes in Benque Viejo Theft

A family in Benque Viejo Del Carmen is urgently seeking the public’s assistance in recovering a stolen urn that contained the ashes of their loved one. On Facebook, Dexter Chavaria wrote that his aunt, 40-year-old Indira Theus’s ashes were stolen from a burglar-barred enclosure at the cemetery. He said that the family has made it a tradition to visit the memorial site every two weeks to maintain it and light candles in her honor. However, their most recent visit brought devastation, when his grandparents found that the tomb was burglarized. The family is now pleading with the public to assist in helping them recover both the urn and the ashes of their beloved family member. Chavarria has informed the community to be on the lookout for the urn, particularly if anyone attempts to sell it. Anyone with information is asked to contact the family directly or notify the police.
