Seventeen-year-old Yeimey Zabaneh is missing, and her family is asking the public’s help to locate her. Zabaneh, a resident of Independence Village in the Stann Creek District, was reported missing yesterday. Her stepfather, Victor Jugo Fernandez, says that she left home to go to a nearby shop sometime after three o’clock yesterday afternoon, and has not been seen or heard from since. Since then the family has been frantically searching, and while they were given several leads, they all turned out to be dead ends. Fernandez said that the family is deeply concerned as she is always at home and has never run away.
Victor Jugo Fernandez, Stepfather of Yemen Zabaneh: “First we went to the hospital, we called her friends, what we find on messenger and we went to the house and we couldn’t find Jamie at nowhere. So we went to the police station and we put a report and since the report is on the air and they put the missing person, we already get some information but lone misleading information. Some people called and said they saw Jamie at Placencia getting up in a bus towards Belmopan. Some other people call me just a little while ago and tell me they saw her Bella Vista walking with the same clothes. When she went from here she didn’t have proper clothes to leave. She went to the shop with a short black pants, no slippers and one yellow t-shirt with mark I.H.S. She never, never do something like that. Never. She is a very cool and very shy girl. She doesn’t go nowhere. She doesn’t go to no events, no kind of events, even to the park, nowhere. If she have homework friends come here and do the homework. She doesn’t go nowhere. That’s why we have a concern because she doesn’t have any money. She doesn’t have no idea what is the streets. So we are really concerned over that.”
Zabaneh is described as being of Mestizo descent, of clear complexion and slim built. She stands five feet two inches tall. Anyone with knowledge of her whereabouts is urged to call her family at 607-7779 or the nearest police station.
