Farmers’ Express Road Project Inaugurated: Upgraded Infrastructure to Boost Local Agriculture

The Farmers’ Express Road Project was inaugurated this morning in the Banana Bank area, Cayo District.  It is a project that has seen upgrades and improvements in road infrastructure, primarily for the roads used by farmers in the Valley of Peace and surrounding farming communities.  Minister of Infrastructure Development, Julius Espat is also the Area Representative for Cayo South, who says these road works will indirectly contribute to the local produce and prices countrywide.  Minister Espat indicated that the six and a half miles were upgraded at an estimated cost of three point six million dollars.

Present at this morning’s inauguration was Deputy Prime Minister Cordel Hyde.  Hyde spoke to the media, expressing his solidarity and support with Minister Espat and the infrastructural projects undertaken.

The Farmers Express Road commences at the intersection of the Valley of Peace Road and the Farmers Express Road and meanders in a westerly and south-westerly direction for a distance of 11miles to the intersection with the Spanish Lookout Road./
