Father Faces Murder Charge After Defending Daughter from Abusive Boyfriend

Derrick Bull has become a sensation in the past few days as he is the man who defended his daughter from being beaten by her boyfriend, 19-year-old, Jael Jimenez.  40-year-old, Derrick Bull handed himself into Police, and this evening he was taken to court on a single charge of murder and one count of aggravated assault.  The court of public opinion has been lobbying for a lesser charge against Bull on the premise that he was defending his child from being abused.  Love News spoke with the daughter, Brianny Bull, who says his father was only trying to help her.  He further noted that things didn’t have to go that far, if her boyfriend’s family had genuinely intervened.

Bull has retained the services of Attorney Dickie Bradley who was at the courthouse in Belize City for the arraignment.  Bradley noted that Bull had to be brought to the city from the Orange Walk court since there was no magistrate available.

Love News understands that the one count of aggravated assault is for allegedly pulling a gun on the brother of the deceased.  Bull has been remanded to the Belize Central Prison until October.
