Yesterday we told you about the efforts to combat illegal cattle ranching deep in Belize’s western forest. Cattle ranching continues to be a major problem specifically in the Vaca, Caracol, Columbia River and Chiquibul. Over the years the forest’s guardian, Friends for Conservation and Development (FCD) has been struggling to eradicate this problem. FCD is partnering with the BDF to devise different strategies to put a stop to it. FCD’s Executive Director Rafael Manzanero told us more.
