Fifteen-Year-Old Makes History as Youngest Winner of Belize Open Golf Tournament

Fifteen-year-old Aydan Lizarraga has made golf history in Belize by becoming the youngest Belizean ever to win the Belize Open golf tournament. The 17th Belize Open was held from September 21 to the 24th at the Roaring River Golf Course in the Cayo District. A total of seventy-two golfers competed in the tournament, where Lizarraga, a third-form student at Sacred Heart College in Cayo, rose to the top beating out 2020 Belize Open Champion Steve Hack. Lizarraga also broke the record for the youngest winner of the Belize Open, which was set by 19-year-old Rori Barrera back in 2012.
