Fifty-four residents from Valley of Peace Village, Cayo District are now first-time landowners. On Saturday, the Government of Belize held a ceremony at George Price Central Park in the village where the recipients were handed the titles to their property. According to Prime Minister John Briceno, the initiative is a part of his administration’s manifesto promise to provide Belizeans with land. PM Briceno explained that providing families with the opportunity to empower themselves will not only positively impact their community but the country as a whole.

Espat also spoke about his plan to provide a portion of yesterday’s recipients with homes.
