Fight in Caye Caulker leaves two people injured.

Shortly after eleven o’clock on Tuesday night, Caye Caulker police responded to reports of a fight on Paseros Street, where they saw two persons suffering from lacerations to the head and face. The victims were identified as forty-seven year old island resident Amado Watson, who was found unconscious along with thirty-seven year old, US national, Kathleen Perry, a visitor to the island. Assistant Superintendent of Police, Alejandro Cowo explained what happened to the pair.

ASP Alejandro Cowo: “Both of them were taken to the Caye Caulker Health Center; there after they were transported to the KHMH where Mr. Amado is admitted in a stable condition at this moment. Ms. Katelyn was discharged and she is presently at the Caye Caulker Police Station making a report in reference to the incident. What happened is that police have found out that Ms. Katelyn Perry and Mr. Amal Watson were socializing at the sports bar when an argument ensued between them and other person that were inside of the establishment. Thereafter they came out of the establishment and the argument continued on the street until they reached in front of Pacero St. where Mr. Amado and the female were attacked with stones and bottles which caused the injuries to both of them. Police have detained a male person who is known to them and is seeking for another male person who can assist in this investigation.”

Police investigations are ongoing.
