Fire damages office at Agusto Quan Store

A small fire caused damage to an office at Agusto Quan Store last night in Belize City. Around 7:30, 55-year-old Larry Quan was working on the building’s second floor when he went to take a bath. Ten minutes later Quan returned to the office and found a set of papers next to a computer on the desk on fire. He then retrieved a fire extinguisher and doused the flames. Fire personnel were called out but the fire had already been put out. The fire destroyed computers and other equipment. The cause of the blaze and the value of the damages are yet to be established. The building nor its contents are not insured. Police investigations continue.
