Fire Destroys Laundromat on Ambergris Caye, Investigation Underway

A building that housed a laundromat was consumed by fire just before midnight on Ambergris Caye.  Officials responded to the fire scene on Seagrape Drive and found a 20 by 20 wooden structure on fire.  The distress call to the fire service was made by one man who was socializing with friends at a nearby bar.  Love News understands that whilst socializing he observed smoke coming from inside the laundromat.  The fire was extinguished, but both the building and its contents were destroyed.  We understand that an adjacent structure had sustained fire and water damage.  Love News spoke to one of the residents of Seagrape drive, Teresa Watlow, who says the fire scared everyone in the area.

No one was injured in this incident.
