Flood Concerns Cast Doubt on Uniform Parade Amid High Tides in Belize City

With the abnormal flooding in Belize City due to high tides, residents are wondering whether the planned uniform parade for Saturday will proceed as planned.  The concerns come since North Front Street is one of the streets affected.  Love News met up with Deputy Mayor Allan Pollard who informed us that while the Belize City Council does give input on the parade, changes would ultimately be made by the Ministry of Education. He did indicate, however, that the Council is hoping that the flooding issue is resolved by the weekend.

Pollard says that considerations for an alternate route would have to be considered carefully to avoid the various streets on the south side also affected by the flooding.
