Flooding in August Pine Ridge: Eight Families Affected by Heavy Rains

And while there is no immediate threat of a hurricane, the weekend saw much needed rains across the country.  Unfortunately, the rains brought flooding.  Tonight, eight families in northern Belize are grappling with the effects of a flash flood brought on by heavy rains this weekend. On Saturday and Sunday, persistent showers inundated homes in August Pine Ridge Village, Orange Walk. The water rose almost three feet and damaged appliances, food, and furniture. Reporter Vejea Alvarez with the help of Orange Walk correspondent Jorge Leon has the story.
