Flooding in the South

Several villages in the Toledo District are being affected by flooding caused by the recent downpour.  In Blue Creek Village, flood waters made it impossible for residents to traverse the bridge.  The San Jose Road was also affected.  In San Pedro Columbia Village, the flood waters invaded people’s residences and made it impossible for vehicles to cross the bridge there.  This caused a temporary suspension of bus runs. Senior Correspondent, Paul Mahung, spoke with several villagers who explained more details about the difficulties there are facing.

The Toledo District Coordinator for the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO), Kenton Parham, gave an update on the impact that the flooding has had on the villagers.

Parham says that NEMO will continue to monitor flood-prone areas in the south.
