Florida Police Investigates Triple Homicide Involving Belizean Nationals

Three Belizeans are dead following a homicide incident in Florida, USA.  Reports are that the incident occurred yesterday morning just before ten o’clock Belize time or just before midday in the state of Florida.  Online news articles indicate that the Lee County Sheriff’s office was called to the crime scene at the 3500 Block of 21st Street Southwest where two females, 37-year-old, Dorla Hyde Pitts, 18-year-old, Starlette Pitts and her boyfriend, 19-year-old, Michael Kelly Junior were found dead whilst a toddler who survived was taken away by the Florida Department of Children and Families.  Love News spoke to the father of Dorla and grandfather of Starlette, Alvan Hyde, who lives in Roaring Creek, Cayo District.

The murder scene was discovered after Dorla Pitts, who was a nurse, did not report to work and so coworkers became concerned and checks were made at her home.  It has been reported that since the incident, 19-year-old, Brian Omar Hyde, who had the crime scene as his last listed address, had been arrested after being caught driving a car without a driver’s license.  Reports are that he may be connected to this homicide investigation.
