Reporter: The Football Federation of Belize is hosting a one week CONCACAF C license training course at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan. Philip Marin the technical director, spoke about the one-week training.
Philip Marin, Technical Director, Football Federation of Belize: “We kick off the CONCACAF C license with a total participants from throughout the country, this is the first of five days training so the coaches will undergo two weeks of intense practical and theoretical content, they will go off for six to eight weeks to do their internships. This course is catered for the Premier League of Belize coaches and also for the coaches that are working with the women’s league. We all know that at the top level most of our coaches are not qualified so our job here at the federation is to ensure that all of our coaches no matter at what level are all qualified for us to move football forward.”
Reporter: Trainer Anton Cunil from Trinidad and Tobago also spoke to Love News.
Anton Corneal, Trainer: “The program here is really a program here that is a second-tier program where we started with our D license meaning CONCACAF and this is our C license level course that has now been presented throughout our region and it targets probably the most important area of development which is developing the young player and them are a couple of areas that we emphasize on, one will be leadership, preparation and planning, and organization sessions.”
