Former Area Representative Anthony ‘Boots’ Martinez Triggers Recall Petition Against Gilroy Usher

Former Port Loyola Area Representative, Anthony “Boots” Martinez, has handed over signatures to trigger a recall petition against current Area Representative, Gilroy Usher. Today Martinez delivered over seventeen hundred signatures to Governor General Dame Froyla Tzalam. Martinez says that he has exceeded the legal threshold to trigger the petition.

Martinez says that the petition shows the will of the people and he himself would return to party politics if the people so desire.

Martinez launched the campaign to garner the signatures in September 2023. The petition marks the first time a former area rep has tried to have a sitting area rep recalled.
