Also reacting to The Queen’s death is former UDP Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wilfred “Sedi” Elrington. We caught up with Elrington this evening in downtown Belize City where he shared his thoughts on her reign as leader of the Commonwealth.
Wilfred Elrington, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs: “Well, we expected that she was going to pass but she was a good queen all in all. I think that she was good and just to the Commonwealth of Nations and I think Belize fared very well certainly under her reign”
Reporter: As a Belizean, is it something that has saddened you?
Wilfred Elrington, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs: “Well, you always feel sad when somebody dies especially somebody who has been as beneficial to Belize as she has been so, yes, we will feel sadness in her passing.”
