Could the police and the Leadership Intervention Unit prevent the murder of Mark Usher and Rafael Caceres? That’s what one former police officer alluded to on Facebook, saying that he had informed the Police of the troubles brewing in the Faber’s Road area. The cop alleged that he made several efforts to have the police and LIU intervene weeks ago after tensions rose between factions in the area. He claimed the warnings were not taken seriously and alleged that some blame should be laid on the police. However, today, the Commissioner of Police Chester Williams denied that allegation and stated that police did try to intervene.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “I know for a fact that police were working on it. I got a complete report from GI3 based on what he had told them and I personally had directed the individuals from that area be picked up and I know that police were looking for them but they were not found.”

The former cop is the son of Gilroy Usher Senior.
