Fortis Conducts Early Warning System Testing in Cayo District

Portions of the Cayo District can expect to hear sirens blaring come tomorrow between the hours of 10 and 11:30am.  The sirens are a part of a testing conducted by Fortis.  According to the company they will be carrying out tests of the Early Warning System or Siren Warning System. As a consequence of this exercise residents of San Ignacio, Cristo Rey, Bullet Tree, Santa Familia, Black Rock, Chaa Creek and Calla Creek can expect to hear the sirens periodically between those hours. Sirens may blare continuously for some fifteen minutes at a time.  The tests are a part of the company’s hurricane preparedness.
