Four persons charged with a burglary in which over thirty seven thousand dollars worth of items and money were stolen, were found guilty of the charge today by Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser. They are Lloyd Parchue, Malik Ovado, Cilo Cherrington and Kareem Yorke. Parchue and Yorke were each sentenced to five years imprisonment while Cherrington and Ovado were fined two thousand five hundred dollars each, in default five years imprisonment. Cherrington and Ovado were spared a custodial sentence because Cherrington had no previous conviction and Ovado was a minor at the time of the incident. The incident occurred on February 5, 2013 at the residence of Phillip Garbutt, located on the George Price Highway. The items that were stolen included jewelry, video games, household appliances and money. Shortly after the burglary police recovered some of the stolen items from a house in St. Martin De Porres area. All four convicted persons were at the house. It was because of the law of recent possession that they were found guilty.
