Four persons busted for drug trafficking

A Belize City woman was arrested and charged for drug trafficking. On November 18, 2019, just after midday, police officers conducted a patrol on Waight Street, Belize City. They observed a female, identified as 20-year-old Amica Jasmyne Stacia Pitts, standing outside with a small brown box in her left hand.

A Belize City woman was arrested and charged for drug trafficking. On November 18, 2019, just after midday, police officers conducted a patrol on Waight Street, Belize City. They observed a female, identified as 20-year-old Amica Jasmyne Stacia Pitts, standing outside with a small brown box in her left hand. Upon seeing the police, she dropped the box on the ground. Police conducted a search in the brown box which revealed 853 grams of suspected cannabis. Pitts was detained and escorted to the station.

Three people from Trial Farm Village, Orange Walk District were busted with 823 grams of suspected cannabis. On November 18, just before three o’clock. Police were called out to Yo Creek Road, Orange Walk District. Upon their arrival, an officer handed over two male persons and a female. Identified as 40-year-old Joaquin Chable, Belizean Laborer, 23-year-old Patrick Martinez, Belizean Taxi Driver and 23-year-old, Edith Miranda.  Investigation revealed that all three persons were in a Toyota Corolla car.  Inside the car was a black bag containing two parcels wrapped in plastic bags, weighing 823 grams of suspected cannabis. The three persons are detained pending investigation.
