Yesterday evening Belize City police responded to a shooting incident near mile 7 on the Phillip Goldson Highway. Assistant Superintendent of Police and Head of the Belize City Crimes Investigation Branch, Alejandro Cowo shared what the investigations have revealed.

“The information we have so far is that two male person were traveling on a motorcycle towards the direction of eight miles towards Belize City and whilst approaching the mile 7 ½ they were approached by a vehicle where the person came out of the vehicle and fired several shots at the person on the motorcycle, the person on the cycle were one Francis Parham. The both of them managed to jump out of the cycle and ran in the bush. However, the person kept firing shots and injured Francis Param on the right and the left leg. As a result, he was admitted at the hospital and he is there presently in a stable condition at this moment.”
Police at the scene recovered two point forty five expended shells and a live round.
