Fugitive Ellis Meighan Allegedly Aided by Cop in Escape to America

Fugitive Ellis Meighan Allegedly Aided by Cop in Escape to America

Tonight, Ellis Meighan remains a wanted man in Belize.  Back in mid-April, an official wanted poster was issued by the authorities, but five weeks later, the Banak Street resident was nabbed by the authorities in San Diego, California, for attempting to illegally enter the country.  Best information suggests that Meighan was to be deported, but instead, he wasted no time in using loopholes to stay in America by applying for asylum.  The plot of this story thickens tonight, however, when it has been learned that Meighan had help from a cop to escape.

Ellis Meighan is a person of interest in the murder investigation of Roy Lee Burgess who was found dead inside a car in Placencia in April.  He is also wanted for questioning into the attempted murder of Maia James who was injured in the incident.
