Galen University Promotes STEM Education with Teacher Training Across Belize

Galen University has been promoting the teaching of Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM), by holding training sessions for teachers countrywide. The sessions, supported by the United States National Association for Research in Science, focused on how teachers can use culture to make STEM education more accessible to students. Love News spoke with Robin Gray, a Science teacher at Bella Vista Government Secondary School in the Toledo District, who explained the impact the training has on teachers and how they intend to pass it on to the students.

Gray said that the thirty teachers participating in the training came together to form the Belize Teachers STEM group, which will work closely with Galen, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology, and other education stakeholders to promote and advance the teaching of STEM education in Belize.
