Garifuna Collective heads to Europe for “post-pandemic” tour

The Garifuna Collective will begin a tour of Europe next week, the first tour since the COVID-19 pandemic. The critically acclaimed group, which has produced two successful albums, will tour summer festivals in France, Belgium, the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom. They are expected to participate in Peter Gabriel’s world-renowned WOMAD Festival in Charlton Park and the iconic Jazz Café in Candem Town, both in the UK. The group leaves Belize on Monday and today, our newsroom spoke to the band’s producer, Ivan Duran about what makes this tour so important.

The touring lineup features singers Desiree Diego, Mohobub Flores and Kenrick “Lovelace” Lewis, drummers Denmark Flores and Austin Aranda, guitarists Sam Harris and Emilio Thomas, and bass player and tour manager, Al Ovando. They return home on August 12.
