Garifuna Settlement Day Celebrations Promote Belize’s Orange Economy

It’s November, which means many Belizeans, at home and abroad, are gearing up to celebrate Garifuna Settlement Day on November 19. The annual festivities highlight some of Belize’s rich cultural traditions, foods, and history. The activities attract hundreds of visitors and build on the country’s orange economy, which focuses on the creative sector. Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Tourism Nicole Solano says bolstering the Orange Economy is necessary to enhance the country’s tourism product.

The orange economy includes musicians, artists, and others in the creative industry.
