He was once an activist leading one of the most active grassroots organizations, the Citizens Organized for Liberty through Action (COLA), but tonight Giovanni Bracket works out of the Prime Minister’s Office. A leaked memo dated Mach 21 from Financial Secretary Joe Waight to Cabinet Secretary Stuart Leslie informs that approval was given for the contractual employment of Brackett as Information Consultant in the Office of the Prime Minister for two years effective February 1. The memo also states that Brackett will be paid a fixed salary of $42,000 per year and a 10% gratuity at the end of the contract period. He is also receiving a telephone allowance at the rate of $125 monthly. Brackett was very active against the UDP administration, leading various protests and demonstrations. He later left COLA, a now-defunct organization. When asked for comments, Brackett told us that he was dealing with a personal emergency and would reach out soon.
