Global Forum on NAPs and NDCs Convenes in Belize to Enhance Climate Action Coherence

Decision makers from around the world gathered at the Grand Caribe Resort in San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye, for a forum aimed at enhancing the alignment between National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) and the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). The event takes place from August 12-14, co-organized by the NAP Global Network and the Government of Belize. The peer learning forum brought together experts and government representatives responsible for the development of NAPs and NDCs to identify actions that can improve the coherence between these processes. Minister of Blue Economy and Disaster Risk Management, Andre Perez, highlighted the impact that NAPs and NDCs have on the preservation of our blue economy.

The urgency of this forum was underscored by the increasing intensity of climate disasters, countries are required to update their NDCs by as early as 2025.
