The Ministry of Infrastructure Development & Housing’s Project Execution Unit announced that it has inked a contract for the Haulover Bridge Replacement Project with M and M Engineering. The 30.9-million-dollar project spans two years and the Ministry and the Italy-based Polytechnic Engineering and Architecture will oversee the project. The latter will offer technical and administrative supervision. Among the specifications for the new bridge, there will be a new multiple-span reinforced concrete structure. The new structure accommodates two lanes of traffic including 1.5-meter-wide shoulders and dedicated pedestrian sidewalks on both sides. Signing the agreement with Minister Julius Espat and representatives from the Ministry and the Belizean engineering firm.
