Belize is one several nations across the region and world that is providing assistance to Haiti following a devastating earthquake on August fourteen and the passage of Tropical Storm Grace three days later. Belize’s contribution is two hundred thousand through the Caribbean Disasster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA). Dozens of people are missing following the tremblor and more than two thousand two hundred people are dead. Some thirty thousand families are left without shelter, some seven thousand homes and other residential structures were destroyed. Total cost of the devastation is still unknown.
