The Briceno Administration has promised the Joint Unions Negotiating Team on Wednesday to restore the ten percent to public officers and teachers gradually within the upcoming fiscal year. That is what Public Service Union President Dean Flowers reported to union members on Wednesday night. A statement from the PSU says that Cabinet is expected to finalize its position after the retreat today. The JUNT also raised the issue of the restoration of increments and the pay scale point of the increments. Where public officers can expect to be placed once increments are unfrozen. Union members were told that no retro payment will be given for the frozen increments. Union leaders were also informed that no performance bonus payment. As for pension benefits for directly affected retiring public officers and teachers, PSU says that the benefits will be computed based on emoluments. Another meeting is expected to occur but a date is yet to be set.
