GOB to Deploy Two Hundred Police-Covid Constables

As the Government continues to work at curbing the Covid-19 numbers, the Ministry of Home Affairs is preparing to deploy some two hundred Police-Covid Constables who will be tasked at monitoring the compliance of the regulations. Speaking on the initiative was Minister Kareem Musa.

Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs: “We- are going to be getting assistance shortly Marisol from 125 COVID constables. The police department as you’re aware is stretched very thinly. Not only are we losing officers by the day but at the same time you have to understand it’s very stressing to have this 10% and then to hoist on top of them additional duties. We could always do better with better with COVID enforcement I will be the first to say that and I  think it has been recognized by the Ministry of Health to say you know what we’re going to come in and we’re going to get 125 special COVID constables to assist the police department and their duties will be just particularly to address COVID offences.  And so we can look forward to Spanish Lookout and the entire country having greater enforcement once we got those officers on the beat.”
