The Gonzalez’s brothers were dragged to court today on a charge of possession of counterfeit and weed possession. 28-year-old Steve Gonzalez along with 23-year-old Daron Gonzalez were busted earlier today in possession of counterfeit bills and 34 grams of marijuana. They appeared unrepresented this morning before Magistrate Khadeen Palmer in Court to answer to two charges, one count of possession of counterfeit notes, while Steve was charged alone for one count of possession of a controlled drug. Since he admitted he knew the note was fake, Magistrate Palmer accepted his guilty plea and imposed a non-custodial sentence of a fine of $800.00 plus a$5.00 cost of the court of which he was given until September 30 to pay in default 6 months imprisonment. Since he took the rap for the fake $100 bill, the prosecutor, Corporal Hilberto Ruiz withdraw the charge from against the younger sibling, Daron and he was free to go. For the offense of possession of a controlled drug for which Steve Gonzalez pleaded not guilty, he was offered bail of $1,500 plus one surety of the same amount which he was able to meet. His next court date for the marijuana possession is set for May 14.
