Three Government Ministers met with members of of the Public Service Union today as part of a series of budget consultation meetings. Today’s meeting is the second such kind as the Government seeks input and recommendations from several sectors in addressing the five hundred million dollar deficit that the country currently faces. Love News spoke with Vice President of the PSU, Dean Flowers, who described the meeting as cordial and productive. The consultation meetings will continue later this week with members of the Belize National Teachers Union (BNTU); the National Trade Union Congress of Belize, and the Association of Public Service Senior Managers. Representing the Government at today’s meeting were Ministers Henry Charles Usher of the Public Service ministry; Francis Fonseca as Education Minister, and Cordel Hyde as the Deputy Prime Minister. The PSU was represented by its President Gerald Henry; Vice President Dean Flowers, and members, Shane Reneau, Ana Loague, and Gale Garcia.
