Government Minister threatened to sue media houses and anyone who tarnishes her reputation

TRACY 1

A Government Minister has threatened to “take appropriate action” against any person or entity that seeks to assassinate her reputation.  Minister of State in the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Commerce, Tracy Panton issued a statement this morning categorically denying any allegations of corruption levied against her.  In her statement she wrote, quote, “Few things vex me or moves me to a point of anger.  The deliberate, vicious, malicious attack on my character, reputation, and integrity merely for political or personal gain is certainly one of them.

There is not even one single iota or semblance of truth in the pronouncements made by the ACB.  The allegations and aspersions are completely fabricated.  I am not sure why anyone would make such an attempt but I will NOT sit on my laurels and let anyone person, anyone association, anyone media personality or institution, anyone political organization make such a cowardly and futile attempt  to assassinate my impeccable reputation and good character.”  End of quote.  The pronouncements that Panton refers to is a social media post made over the weekend where it is alleged that Panton is one of three Government ministers who had received monies from John Saldivar reportedly through the Lev Dermen funds.  According to the statement, Panton allegedly received ten thousand US dollars monthly which she had to share with a political colleague.  As we noted earlier, Panton has denied these allegations.  Along with the naming of the three Cabinet ministers, a recently terminated Government official is also mentioned as a recipient.   Love News reached out to one of the named Government ministers for comment, but our request was ignored. AS for the Association of Concerned Belizeans (ACB) while we did report in a January newscast that the ACB was reactivating, we have been unable to confirm who the players are behind the group.  Since the announcement of their reactivation, several serious allegations have been levied against multiple UDP members and elected representatives.
