Government to Use Boledo and Lottery Proceeds for Free Healthcare and Education

Prime Minister John Briceno has confirmed that the government will be using the proceeds from the Boledo and Lottery to assist in funding the plans for free healthcare and free education.  As it relates to the contracts issued for the new Boledo, a release from government has indicated that the government is the owner of the Belize Government Lotteries Limited (BGLL), and that two master agents have been identified to sell and distribute the lotteries.  

The National Health Insurance services was rolled out this week in the Orange Walk District.  According to Prime Minister Briceno, the offset of public revenues due to free healthcare and education, will be provided through the Boledo sales.

The first draw of the Boledo will be on December 3.
